Chloro and acetato complexes of platinum(II) with functionalized thioethers

The chloro complexes are obtained in high yield (63–90%) by reaction of [PtCl2(PhCN)2] with the proper thioether in 1/2 molar ratio, in anhydrous chloroform, at reflux under argon for ca. 10 h. The X-ray crystal structure of [PtCl2(MeS-o-C6H4Me)2 has been determined
