Energy and the urban environment: a coordinated approach

abstract:
The Brescia Municipal Services Board (ASM), the National Research Council (CNR), the Italian Association of Local Public Service Boards (CISPEL) and the Society for the Organization of Government and public Boards (SOGESS.EL) are carrying out a feasibility study, financed by the EEC, in the area of "Energy and the Urban Environment". The aim of this study is to improve the control of energy management in such a way as to safeguard the environment. The project consists of an organic, integrated study of a management system, automatic control, monitoring and remote control of various areas, such as: * an integrated traffic control system; * the centralized remote control and monitoring of space heating; * remote reading of customer meters; * environmental monitoring (air and water). The project includes the definition of the architecture of the information computer system necessary for the handling of data for management and planning use, based on an AM/FM/GIS system.
