Il progetto SAMOS dell'ERCIM : European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics

Scientists have long used grey literature documents as their preferred communication media; today, with the advent of digital writing and telematic networks, information transfer is mainly based on a process that, starting from digitai writing by the authors themselves, permits to create personal or collective electronic archives allowing to download documents into personal working stations. The SAMOS project, promoted by the ERCIM Consortium, is concerned with digitai document search and capture,aiming at the ereation of a distributed system ofarchives for textual, graphic and sound documents through the Internet and the WWW system.
