Valutazione preliminare dei fattori di rischio nel centro antico di Nardò.

In the last years several damages to buildings and roads have been experienced in the old town centre of Nardò, Southern Italy. The collapse of vaults of hypogean cavities, due to the erosion of soil particles, have been recognized as the main cause of the instability phenomena. The railfall water percolation through the road pavements and, more frequently, the water leaching from aqueducts and sewers provoke the erosion. Such a mechanism involves the thick cover of filling material and the underlying silty sands.
