abstract:
a-Alkoxyalkylation of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds with a-bromoacetaldehyde diethyl acetal, mediated by trimethylsilyl triflate, affords the corrisponding adducts, wich are conveniently transformed into 3-acyl- and 3-alkoxycarbonyl-furans in refluxing toluene.
