Abstract:
Optical properties of a 3/2 l cavity with embedded a rectangular
dielectric grating and a quantum well at the anti-nodes of the
electromagnetic field are computed in a semi-classical framework.
For the reciprocal lattice vector of the grating G=2p/d (where d is the
periodicity) close to the characteristic light wave vector, the diffracted
waves (with in-plane wavevector k//= G) propagate into the cavity, and,
therefore the density of states of radiative modes, leaky in the planar
semiconductor microcavity, can be studied by linear optical
spectroscopy. The Rabi energy, and the radiative recombination time
of the cavity are computed, and the role of disorder is briefly
discussed .
