Efficient error correcting technique for digital equipment

Error detection/correction represents one of the most stimulating problems to be solved in digital equipment. A residue encoding guarantees the best exploitation of the code redundancy and natural, parallel and fast arithmetic. This approach has been considered in digital signal processing. However, the error correcting procedures are still heavy and time consuming. The authors present a new technique which permits modular and fast error decoding. © 1995, IEE. All rights reserved.
