Abstract:
Digitising philosophical texts has a long history, which was started in the 50s and in the framework of which the case of Leibnizian texts can be considered emblematic. It is in fact on some of the writings of Leibniz that a variety of approaches and methods have been tested in relation to the developments of computational linguistics and philology. Firtly, I briefly recall how philosophical texts have come accross techniques of text-processing, then I focus on a project I was involved in concerning Leibniz's Monadology and which was accomplished a few years ago at the research centre Lessico Intellettuale Europeo (LIE) in Rome. Finally, I outline a new project I am preparing at the Institut des Textes et Manuscrits Modernes (ITEM) in Paris.
