On diffusion, oxidation and condensation phenomena at the liquid metal-gas interface
Academic Article
Publication Date:

abstract:
The mass transfer phenomena between a liquid metal and the surrounding gas phase play an important role in several technological processes: the existence of oxygen fluxes can strongly affect the properties of the gas-liquid interface. Here, known kinetic criteria will be connected to saturation laws and arranged in a series of tests easily applicable to real cases in order to forecast the steady configuration of the phases. The case of tin will be discussed.
