Dielectric, Ferroelectric, Antiferroelectric, Relaxor, Piezoelectric Ceramics: Definitions and Main Applications

Functional ceramics with ferroelectric/antiferroelectric, relaxor, and piezoelectric properties are already employed in many technological fields and have attracted considerable attention for new promising applications. A short introduction to the field of dielectric, piezoelectric, ferroelectric, antiferroelectric, and relaxor materials is given in this article. The basic concepts are introduced and the main applications are presented.
