The contribution aims to revisit the known and lesser known aspects of the second redaction of the Histoire ancienne jusqu'à César (BL Royal MS 20.D.I) - the iconographic, codicological, palaeographic, linguistic and textual elements - to better define the nature of this project carried out in Naples in the circle of Robert of Anjou's court and understand when and why it was conceived.
