Ernst Mach e la filosofia

The first part of the paper is a review of a recent book on Ernst Mach (Ernst Mach tra scienza e filosofia, edited by Pietro Gori, Ets, Pisa 2018) and makes some considerations about Mach's fortune in Italy. The aim of the second half of this paper is to suggest a line of research that could be fruitful to understand the relationship between Mach and the so-called "philosophers of immanence", bounded to Mach by mutual esteem. Wilhelm Schuppe, Richard von Schubert-Soldern, Johannes Rehmke and Anton von Leclair - scarcely or never investigated by historians of philosophy - supported an extreme type of Erkenntnisstheorie which Mach judged worthy of praise in Erkentniss und Irrtum (1905).
