Quadratic configuration interaction procedure with single and double electronic excitations (QCISD) has been used, for the first time, to calculate the electronic structure of the Compound I (CpdI), which represents a key intermediate in the catalytic cycle of Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) enzyme.
