In this paper the map that synthetizes the studies on Sinkhole of Latium region is presented (Meloni et al. 2012). These studies started in 2002 in a collaborative research project between Latium Region and the University of Roma Tre (Capelli et al., 2002). Subsequently, with the construction of the new catalogue of the sinkhole of Latium (Liperi et al., 2009) and later with the unification of the catalogue of the Latium Region with that prepared by ISPRA (Nisio, 2008a, 2008b, 2010), the construction of a unified catalogue was provided in 2011 (Meloni et al., 2013b). Further analyses were conducted to study the relationships between the sinkhole and the main geological, geomorphological, tectonic and seismic features of the Latium region. These studies allowed the construction of a susceptibility map of the entire regional territory (Ciotoli et al., 2012); this map constitutes the basis for the identification of risk areas. Future developments will be the establishment of a Commission with the aim to identify and rule the activities within the risk areas, and for the advancement of the knowledge in the most dangerous risk areas.
