WATER ARCHITECTURE IN HISTORY FOR THE STORYTELLING OF IDENTITY HERITAGE

Through the identification of prevalent thematic categories related to the themes of supply, distribution, production, communication networks, landscape, urban system, the sacred and well-being, in a time span that moves from Antiquity, are reviewed some works and contexts deemed to be of reference regarding the cultural heritage connected to the civilization of the waters in order to favour the recognition, conservation and enhancement of a complex heritage, wise and sedimented memory of materials, techniques, knowledge, practices. The paper is aimed at rediscovering, alongside the necessary uses and the economic value of the water resource, its character of cultural heritage to favour a different awareness of the good and a cognitive and popular approach linked to the activation of innovative fruitional and experiential paths, promoting the recognition of its historical identity value.
