abstract:
Social media represent an incredible source of data regarding the user-user and user-information interactions. In this short essay we present an overview of the analysis and segmentation models that allowed us to observe phenomena such as the existence of echo-chambers, the presence of positive and negative reinforcements with respect to similar or contrasting beliefs, the lexical convergence of online conversations, the centrality of emotional arguments in polarized debates, the relationship of virality to the propagation and the injection of fake news.
