In the complex scenario of the Kingdom of 'Sardinia and Corsica' at the aftermath of the battle of Sanluri (Sardinia, 1409), the family of Carròs rises between the Crown's centralising tendencies to stabilise the state and the centripetal separatism of the feudal forces. The Carròs family, building on the role of its representatives in the royal administration and through legal and illicit ways, consolidates an extensive feudal property. Their interest into the rich Marmilla throughout the 15th century is emblematic, as it is also illustrated by charter documents from the chancery of Alphonse the Magnanimous and John the 'Without Faith'.
