Nothing to do with trade? Vasi configurati, statuette e merci dimenticate tra Oriente e Occidente
Conference Paper
Publication Date:
2009
abstract:
The paper concerns the results of a comparative study on the East-Greek coroplastic coming from two huge votive deposits of the Greek Sicily: Bitalemi at Gela and San Francesco at Catania. The typological and quantitative approach has highlighted a prevalence of plastic vases. The remark allows to consider also the archaic perfume trade and other often forgotten goods in the archaic mediterranean sanctuaries.
