abstract:
During the research projects conducted by the CNR-ISMAR Institute of Venice, collections of organisms and sediments have been formed as the character of estuarine and marine environments of the Northern Adriatic Sea. In detail, the main collections catalogued are: the macroalgae collections; the collections of marine benthic invertebrates; the collection of benthic foraminifera; the collection of historic sediment cores; the photographic archive. The need to organize and make the naturalistic collections accessible has led to the preparation of a practical guide, showing the steps of a multidisciplinary methodological path that begins with the study of the samples up to their storage in the digital repository Archive of Adriatic Studies (ASA) of ISMAR and networking with other digital resources.
