abstract:
The aim of this chapter is to give some basic elements concerning the utilization of absorption, lurninescence, Raman and Brillouin spectroscopies in the field of optical sensors. Particular attention is paid lo the diagnostics of thin films and to the applications of activated optical waveguides.
