Tabù del nome e trasfigurazione in nemico epico. Ezzelino da Romano in due testi franco-veneti
Academic Article
Publication Date:
2014
abstract:
This article focuses on the echoes of historical and political events which characterize some medieval Franco-Venetian literary texts. In particular, it expands the hypothesis proposed by Henning Krauss aiming to explain the character of Maximo Çudé in the Franco-Venetian Chevalerie Ogier as a literary transfiguration of the Ghibelline tyrant Ezzelino da Romano. The Author adduces some new evidences in support of this hypothesis, suggesting a link to the taboo of Ezzelino's name in the Franco-Venetian Prophecies de Merlin.
