La situation sociale dans les Centri per bambini e famiglie en Italie : une étude ethnographique.

This study is based on ethnographic observations collected during a whole opening session of 40 Centri per bambini e famiglie in Italy. The analysis has been focused on the social situation in the centres, interactions between adults accompanying the children, their different attitudes and behaviour according to their status towards their child. It has shown that, in all the situations, a serene and relaxed, even warm, social climate and interactions between adults developed, sometimes producing further relationships. The centres, which are meeting places between individuals who are not familiar to each other but all share the experience of caring and educating a young child, represent an interesting observatory on urban society in modernity.
