The binding of Sardinia to the Iberian Peninsula is a topic still poorly explored and deserves to be deeply investigated. The 'Catalanity' and the constraint that, within the imperial system of Austria, still persisted bet-ween the island and some penin-sular regions of the Crown of Aragon - especially Catalonia and Valencia - were not merely based on legal-administrative grounds, but engaged more broadly the economic, social and cultural life of the kingdom of Sardinia
