abstract:
In the present work a specific case of a 5G exposure scenario in indoor environment is evaluated. The incoming 5G network will in fact drastically change the exposure levels of the population to RF-EMF and an adequate exposure assessment is thus necessary. Specifically, the exposure levels of a human model due to two different 8x8 indoor planar array antennas at 3.7 GHz and at 27 GHz are here analyzed, simulating an indoor scenario with the presence of an access point. The simulations will be conducted using the FDTD solver implemented in Sim4Life platform and for each antenna three different configurations will be assessed. The analyzed quantities will be the specific absorption rate and the transmitted power density, as indicated in the basic restrictions of the ICNIRP guidelines. The final aim of the present work is to further expand the knowledge about the exposure levels for the incoming 5G scenarios.
