The implementation of strategies to improve the efficiency of buildings is crucial to prevent that the energy certification remains only an intellectual exercise. The buildings in Italy today represents a significant share of the final energy consumption. In response to the requirements of European Directive 2002/91 and 2010/31, ITC-CNR has developed methods and tools for the energy certification of buildings.
