Stable, Water Soluble PTA-Based Ru-Ag Organometallic Polymers

abstract:
The cagelike 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane ligand bridges [CpRu]+ and [AgCl2]- moieties by an unprecedented N,P-coordinating mode (see picture) to yield water-soluble, air-stable heterobimetallic polymeric structures. The products have been structurally characterized, and dynamic light-scattering measurements confirm the polymeric nature of the complex in water.
