abstract:
Recently a great deal of research in the domain of geographical information systems has been expressed. In particular, a fundamental research area concerns the definition of high level user interfaces. This paper proposes an advanced visual (pictorial) query language and presents its implementation. The main characteristics of this query language is to resolve the interpretation ambiguity of the drawn query, as well as the possibility to draw queries with the OR operator by the definition of two ad-hoc operators: ANY and ALIAS.
