abstract:
The "Corpus of Marginal Minaic Inscriptions" is the critical digital edition of the ca. 70 Ancient South Arabian inscriptions in Minaic language found beyond the homeland borders of the Minaic kingdom in southern Arabia, direct proof of the trading activities and of the stable presence of Minaean merchants in faraway commercial terminals and caravan oasis. Although they are linguistically Minaic, the Marginal Minaic inscriptions show some peculiarities as for grammar, lexicon and formulas.
The Corpus is part of the epigraphic archive "DASI-Digital Archive for the study of pre-Islamic Arabian inscriptions" of the University of Pisa. Inscriptions are provided with text annotation, apparatus criticus, translations, images, bibliography, description of the textual support and of the geographic context.
