Eventi alluvionali in Calabria nel decennio 1980-1989

The present study increases the amount of available data* on damage caused by geo-hydrological events that occurred in Calabria throughout the past centuries. The research was carried out by looking for damage related to floods, rainfall-induced landslides, and drought in the daily editions of the regional newspaper named La Gazzetta del Sud. Data are presented in chronological order, and on a municipal scale, even if in severe events often the information is reported for larger regional sectors. The catalogue is made of 724 records of events occurred throughout 10 years, and it is an important information source for researchers working on geo-hydrological phenomena that affected Calabria. Data can be used to retrace event scenarios and to highlight the areas formerly affected by floods and landslides damage.
