abstract:
Cognitive dysfunction occurs in patients suffering from multiple sclerosis also at the beginning of disease. This impairment has clinical relevance during progression of disease and has major impact on social functioning. In this critical review we take into account the cognitive and emotional-behavioural changes usually observed in multiple sclerosis and we discuss these aspects considering recent studies using functional imaging approach.
