Si può vivere senza pregiudizi? Risposte dalla teoria dell'informazione

Other Research Product
Publication Date:
2014
abstract:
The relationships between certain mathematical problems, morals and social life are more than simple metaphors. Our daily actions entail solving many of these problems and, when survival is at stakes, force us to rely on knowledge that does not come directly from our senses. In other words, we rely on prejudice, and prejudice has an evolutionary value. We cannot get rid of it, but it can be good or bad. We can reason about a prejudice from the results of our action, from a theory, or from other 'good' prejudices. When a prejudice is considered good for some time, it is often called a 'value'. Values, too, are thus to be reasoned about.
