Abstract:
The crystal data of a number of carbonyl compounds have been reinvestigated. Interactions between carbonyl groups and pi-arene systems have been more deeply discussed from a stereochemical point of view revealing the presence of stabilizing interactions. Preliminar ab initio calculations are in agreement with this interpretation. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
