abstract:
Seiridium cardinale is a world-wide distributed pathogenic fungus wich causes a serious bark canker on many Cupressaceae. Eight polymorphic nuclear microsatellites (SSR) were developed and characterized for the fungus using an enriched library method. A total of 51 isolates from two different populations (Greece and Italy) were used to estimate genetic diversity parameters. The number of alleles ranged from 1 to 7. These markers will be very useful in screening variability at isolates level and for population genetic studies.
