Lipomatous metaplasia in ischemic cardiomyopathy: Current knowledge and clinical perspective
Academic Article
Publication Date:
2011
abstract:
Lipomatous metaplasia in ischemic cardiomyopathy is a common but
underappreciated entity, due to the inability of traditional cardiac
imaging techniques (such as echocardiography and single-photon emission computed tomography) to
recognize it. Increasing use of multi-slice computed tomography and cardiac magnetic resonance in the past years
allowed better characterization of the presence and extent of Lipomatous metaplasia.
