Nanoscale Pt powders derived from solvated Pt atoms in catalysis

Nanoscale Pt particles (approximate to 30-40 Angstrom) generated by clustering of arene solvated Pt atoms show an unusual catalityc activity in the hydrogenation of p. chloronitrobenzene: the reaction affords, as final product, dicyclohexylamine which has not been observed using commercial or traditionally prepared Pt powders as catalysts.
