In the past, the boundaries of "places" have characterized "space", studding it with meanings, nuances and specificity. There were, in fact, sacred and secular places; rural and metropolitan places. Each of these places was distinguished by specific characteristics. Today, however, the identity of the place is under double pressure. On the one hand, "place" is described as the periphery of the global world. On the other hand, it becomes the object of stubborn nostalgia. The "place" is thus reproduced, spectacularised and overexposed. This article seeks to describe how, in relation to these opposing dynamics, our perception and experience of "space" changes as well. In addition, the article attempts to set up a delicate interdisciplinary dialogue. For some time now, in fact, the concept of "territory" has entered the interests of the new economy, which tends to promote places as areas of memorable "experiences".
